Meet Dr. Vinny Singh, DPT
Co-Founder | Orthopedic & Sports Physical Therapist
Vinny Singh is the co-founder and physical therapist at EMI Garden City, where he specializes in orthopedic and sports physical therapy. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Quinnipiac University through its accelerated 3+3 Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
A Movement-Focused Approach
Vinny takes a comprehensive, movement-focused approach to physical therapy. Rather than simply treating the location of pain or injury, he evaluates how the entire body moves and how strength, mobility, stability, mechanics, and movement patterns interact to influence performance and injury risk. His goal is not just to help patients feel better—it is to help them understand their bodies, restore optimal movement, and perform at their highest level.
Personalized Care. Individualized Results.
A defining part of Vinny’s approach is his ability to listen. He takes the time to understand each patient’s goals, lifestyle, sport, occupation, and the activities that matter most to them. From there, he develops individualized treatment plans designed around the person—not simply the diagnosis. His ability to build genuine relationships with patients allows him to create an environment where patients feel heard, challenged, and confident in their recovery.
Vinny’s treatment approach combines hands-on manual therapy with targeted, progressive exercise and movement training. He focuses on identifying and addressing the underlying factors contributing to pain, dysfunction, or performance limitations rather than relying on passive treatment alone. Patient education is central to his philosophy, and he works closely with each individual to develop strategies that extend beyond the clinic and into everyday life.
From Rehabilitation to Performance
For athletes, Vinny brings a performance-driven perspective to rehabilitation. Whether an athlete is recovering from an injury, preparing to return to competition, or looking to improve strength and movement quality, his goal is to bridge the gap between rehabilitation and performance. He believes successful physical therapy should prepare patients not only to return to what they were doing before injury, but to move with greater confidence, strength, and resilience.
Vinny practices what he preaches. An avid weightlifter, he also enjoys playing soccer and beach volleyball in his free time. His passion for athletics gives him firsthand insight into the physical demands, goals, and challenges faced by active individuals and competitive athletes. Outside of the clinic, he enjoys giving back to the community and has volunteered as a high school wrestling coach.
Your Physical Therapist for Life
Vinny views physical therapists as primary care providers for the musculoskeletal system. Just as people see their physicians for routine wellness visits and preventative screenings, Vinny believes individuals should take a proactive approach to their movement health. Periodic movement assessments can help identify strength, mobility, balance, and movement deficits before they become injuries or limit performance.
His philosophy is simple: movement is medicine. Whether his patient is an elite athlete, a weekend warrior, a busy professional, or someone simply trying to stay active and independent, Vinny’s goal is to help them move better, perform better, and stay in the game for life.
